- ISEAGE
-
The Internet-Scale
Event and Attack Generation Environment
(ISEAGE) (pronounced “ice age”)
is being developed at the Iowa State University
Information Assurance Center (IAC). The
goal of ISEAGE is to provide a world-class
research and education facility to enhance
the current state of the art in information
assurance. Dedicated to creating a virtual
Internet for the purpose of researching,
designing, and testing cyber defense mechanisms,
the proposed one-of-a-kind facility will
be the catalyst for bringing together
top researchers from several disciplines
for a common goal of making computing
safer. Unlike computer-based simulations,
real attacks will be played out against
real equipment.
SNAIR
-
The goal of SNAIR is
to provide an environment where students
and researchers are able to better understand
intrusion detection and attribution so
we can not only detect computational misuse
but also understand who is misusing the
computer(s). This laboratory is an experimental
lab, in the sense that it isn't purely
theory.

Space Forensics Lab
-
The
goal of the Cyber Attack Simulation Project
is to provide an environment where end-users,
developers, and researchers can test Cyber
defenses against real world attacks. The
facility will be operated on a cost recovery
basis to ensure its ongoing success and
to provide continual access to state of
the art equipment.

Science Lab
-
The goal of the Information
Systems Security Laboratory is to examine
security issues through intrusion detection
and counter measures to an intrusion discovered
in a network. The facility utilizes both
a wired and wireless network infrastructure
allowing for both forms of traffic in
the laboratory. The facility consists
of an environment containing Linux and
Windows XP desktops, file servers, laptops,
and palmtops connecting through both wireless
and wired connections. The components
of the network are connected to other
components through the use of Ad-Hoc and
access points. The facility will be designed
to provide an excellent environment to
conduct state of the art research in computer
security and security tool development.
Use of the lab by researchers will be
charged back to research contracts.
