PNNL-ISU Distinguished Graduate Research Program

Program Overview

The PNNL-ISU Distinguished Graduate Research Program (DGRP) provides students the unique opportunity to work at US Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) on nationally relevant research projects while earning a Ph.D. The DGRP program will enable the students to gain valuable knowledge and utilize the world-class research infrastructure at both institutions. During this four-year program, candidates will earn a stipend along with benefits while on appointment under the guidance of a prestigious graduate committee.

The DGRP students will work with faculty at ISU and the scientist from PNNL during the first two years of the program while completing their graduate coursework, and subsequently transfer to PNNL for the remaining two years of their PhD program to gain hands-on research experience working with the PNNL scientist. The program will focus on opportunities for dissertation research in cybersecurity of power systems.
