IntroductionThis seminar is a non-credit student managed seminar focused on practical applications of information security. Publications oriented to practitioners will be the primary source material. A security topic will be selected for a given session and articles from these publications will be reviewed and discussed. Given the complexity of some of these topic areas, a topic may be addressed over a series of sessions in order to provide background context. AudienceGraduate students and faculty interested in Information Security from all departments are welcome. Effective communication requires common frames of reference among those communicating. It is strongly encouraged that those wishing to participate have taken or are taking CPRE/INFAS 530, 531, 532. Another useful body of knowledge is the (ISC)2 Common Body of Knowledge required for the CISSP, which has been published in various books.
